• Data network prototypes are, by definition, cutting edge demonstration tools and thus limited by current technology and data infrastructure;

• More work needs to be done to overcome traditional barriers to data/information sharing.

These prototypes are aimed at testing different technologies for potential use by a MA ocean data mapping application (MORIS) and a regional ocean data portal that support coastal and marine spatial planning.
